That's her. Somehow my ultimate bass guitar. We met some time ago in the 90ies when I needed a reliable bass guitar for pushing the Candy. Ever since I keep turning back to her. I really cranked on her with Candy Push, played her cool with SeCure/Strangedays, she's on all SlimP-Recordings. Whatever needs to be done - it can be done with her. Japanese Fender Precision. I'd have to spend quite a lot of money to find a suitable replacement (don't even know why I keep an eye on other basses. Guess, it's because it feels like going to music stores sometimes and checking out bass guitars is part of being a bass player... ;-)).
...found some historical document...it was sooo cheap!
Fender Jaguar Bass VI Custom
...and she's great! Perfect instrument for lines! Feels good, plays good, sounds good... we need more songs for it!
update: using it quite often on the new cd. I love it! Not yet published, but as you can already hear the songs live, here's a list of songs where I use it: Hypnosis, Nightly Walk, Lines, and there will be more to come...
I happened to borrow this Amp from The Admiriade's bass player Felix when we played this years's schwarzton festival. We were in urgent need of a second amp, so he just got it from their practice room. To make a long story short: It was so convincing, that I bought it. :-)
It's a SWR WORKINGMAN'S 2X10C. Sounds great in combination with my ampeg 4x10 speaker. And looks very important...
If you get the chance to test one: make sure there's enough space! It needs room to breath. On a wide stage it developes a much better sound than in a cozy small practice room.

...kind of boring to me. In case anyone wonders: I use this Boss thing. Mainly the Equalizer, barely distortion and chorus+delay or flanger. About 4 different settings are enough for both, bass and bariton.
Ibanez Artstar... if I was dreaming a bass... it would probably be close to this one. Didn't have the time to really get it sounding good with my amplification system(s). She needs attention, though 'K' from K.Bass&Guitars did a really good job giving it a quick adjustment, while I was testing his handmade basses. Really great instruments, feeling extremely natural in my hands (and through the rest of my body!).
This is a Vantage Avanger. Never heard? No matter. It was cheap. It used to be metallic purple before I sliced the body and painted it green-black. Bought it ages ago when I became a bass player for Duty Free, back when life was fun and easy... before this one I played a Höfner Beatles bass, borrowed from someone.

Another one of the "whatever needs to be done, I can do that"-things. A Marathon Replay Series Guitar. Bought in the 90ies for 150 Euro, it stopped me from thinking about buying a real Fender. What should I do that for? Sounds good, plays good... I use this one for writing songs.

bought this one a century ago for very little money, it was pretty fucked so I glued jeans over it (seriously), but removed that ridiculous fault some years later before I painted it blue-white-black, it's meant to be an eye...
it's a 1974 FRAMUS, nearly unplayable, but good-looking.
This is the one that got me started. YES, of course I tried playing 6 strings before reducing to a more handy amount of strings...
Got this one (Ibanez Blazer custom) second hand when I was ... 14, I think. Had to change the pickguard as the jack was broken after a few years of making love. Nice guitar, probably the basement of me fancying ibanez... ;-)

...the first one I painted myself. Obviously a "curesque" era... we bought two of them for very little money, Lars finished his one with the lyrics of "just like heaven" (I think), I left mine just like you see on the picture. Sounds really funny, maybe we should SlimPerize it some time... it's an Olympics guitar from Japan, early 80ies, I think.

This one is for backup...
my musical awareness began in the 80ies, so I had to get a Stingray one day*. Here it is, though it's only the OLP version. Good enough, anyway, since we replaced the pickup. Some Seymour Duncan thing, the same as E. plays on her Stingray.
*these guys are to blame...: Simon Gallup, Steven Severin,...
SOLD!
